Covid-19 emergency: support the ‘General Manuel Belgrano’ public hospital in Villa Zagala – Buenos Aires to protect people at risk (Phase I)

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: The project is an extension of a first project action carried out in the autumn of 2020, which enhanced the biochemical laboratory of the ‘General Manuel Belgrano’ public hospital in order to provide effective analysis and diagnosis of the most vulnerable and low-income patients affected by the Sars-cov-2 virus. The action envisaged in this second phase aims to further upgrade the equipment available to the biochemical laboratory of the Belgrano Hospital in order to increase the accuracy of the analyses undertaken through the provision of equipment and materials for analysing samples.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Protecting the health of the most vulnerable people affected by COVID-19
  • Providing quality health services in the emergency context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina
  • Improving the quality of technical and medical equipment in the laboratory of the ‘General Manuel Belgrano’ public hospital
  • Contribute to effective diagnosis and prevention efforts to combat COVID-19 among the most vulnerable and low-income communities

ACTIVITIES:

Provision of technical materials for the collection and analysis of samples at the Belgrano Hospital biochemical laboratory

RESULTS:

  • Improved effectiveness and reliability of diagnoses to combat Covid-19 virus among the most vulnerable and low-income communities
  • Upgraded quality technical-sanitary equipment for the ‘General Manuel Belgrano’ public hospital
