The 5th Newsletter of the project “Dialoguing, training, bargaining: work as an instrument of peace – AID 11604” in Eritrea is now available. The project is financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) – Regional Office in Khartoum, led Nexus Emilia Romagna (Nexus ER), in collaboration with Progetto SUD (ProSud), Istituto Sindacale per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (ISCOS), Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo (VIS) and, at local level, National Confederation of Eritrean Workers (NCEW).
Thanks to the coordination between the partners and the project staff, the shipment of other materials for the setting up of some laboratories of the Training Centre in Massawa and for the completion of the Social Media Centre in Asmara has been completed. The two centres will be fundamental for the professional training and updating of many Eritrean youth, women and people with disabilities, allowing them to have access to decent work opportunities in the sectors of tourism/hospitality, ICT and air conditioning/refrigeration systems.
The shipment of the materials was also possible thanks to dedicated resources from the project “Women’s Councils: models, skills and voice for a just society in Eritrea – EIDHR/2019/412-527”, co-funded by the European Commission, with the same partnership and ISCOS as Lead Partner. This collaboration has contributed to the shipment of goods and materials for the training of the beneficiaries and the realisation of meetings involving key actors of both projects.
